International Friendship Partner
Be a Friend. Change the World.
Right here at our local university, international graduate students are living far from home—often lonely, full of questions, and hoping for genuine friendship. While they are studying at a high academic level and speak English, many still feel isolated and long for meaningful connection.
In fact, 80% of international students who study here for five years are never invited into an American Christian home.
That’s something we can change—together.
We are inviting the members of local evangelical churches to become an American Friend to an international graduate student. This is a simple, relational opportunity to welcome someone from another culture with friendship, hospitality, and the love of Christ.
This is a great opportunity for:
-
Individuals and couples
-
Families (children included!) who want to learn about other cultures firsthand
-
Anyone who wants to live out their faith locally while impacting the nations
What does it look like?
-
Families or individuals complete a short survey
-
You are thoughtfully matched with an international graduate student
-
The student does not live with you
-
You commit to connecting about once a month
-

-
Inviting them to your home for holidays or special occasions
-
Typical connection time is the last Friday of the month (or any other convenient time)
